Global Positioning
The Kuwait Public Policy Centre (KPPC) is an inherently Kuwaiti center with hands reached to the international community. The Global Positioning pillar is a cornerstone to the Kuwait National Development Plan (KNDP) as it highlights His Highness the Emir’s direction of Kuwait being an international hub within the Gulf region.
To that end, the KPPC has embarked on collaborating with several distinguished global institutions. The KPPC has signed MoUs with the World Bank, the American University of Beirut-Issam Faris Institute (AUB-IFI), the University of Ottawa-Center of Governance, and the Institute for Information Industry in Taiwan, to name a few.
Alongside signing and activating these MoUs, the KPPC is working within the International Standing pillar by collaborating with Oxford Economics to develop a white paper regarding the current international trade war between the United States and China. The white paper utilizes the customized macroeconomic model for the State of Kuwait that KPPC supported in developing, alongside Oxford Economics’ modelling prowess and expertise to ascertain the effects of global trade fluctuations on the Kuwaiti economy and how to best mitigate potential damage.
